These inserts are reinforced with cord in the centre for strength and wrapped with an uncured gum rubber. This repair is designed to be inserted with tyre repair cement. The wet cement will lubricate the injury and repair to make it easy to insert, the cement will cause the gum rubber to vulcanise to make a permanent repair. Note: Rubber Manufacturing Association (RMA) recommends that the tyre be removed from the rim for inspection and also a repair or patch be installed on the inside of the tyre.
